Thomas Bradley ,

Only fact book you will ever need

This is the most complete world encyclopedia I have ever read. While some may go to Wikipedia for very brief descriptions of countries, this book goes into much more detail.

In addition to simple things like population and area statistics, it also included specific economical figures, in-depth history, and government facts. I especially liked how everything was neatly organized and easy to find. I would recommend this both for those interested in finding out a little more about the world as well as scholars.

Good, but freely available.

This is an excellent, highly authoritative reference, but why buy it when it's available for free over the internet from the CIA? Just Google "CIA World Factbook," and you'll find it right away.

Much better than the one from Gutenberg

this one is much better that the one from Gutenberg. it has links that make it easy to jump to the map I want.
