“Melody Thomas is an author to watch! She will sweep you away!”
—Karen Hawkins
Dangerous passions collide in the Highlands in Claimed by a Scottish Lord, the second book of the exciting historical romance series author Melody Thomas began with Beauty and the Duke. The story of a desperate—and desperately handsome—noble Scotsman who takes his enemy’s daughter prisoner, only to discover that she’s everything he ever wanted, Claimed by a Scottish Lord brims with Melody Thomas’s trademark wit, adventure, and searing sensuality. If you’ve missed Judith McNaught’s historicals—or simply adore curling up with a classic Kathleen E. Woodiwiss or Stephanie Laurens romance—then you just might have found a new favorite in Melody Thomas.
Customer Reviews
One of the best romances I’ve read in awhile.
I loved the main characters in this book. Rose was a complex, yet very grounded character. Despite the cover up of her identity, she had a great sense of self and intellect. She was not an overly emotional female, and dealt with Ruark directly for the most part. She didn’t assume intentions or meanings behind his words or actions. If she wanted clarification she would just ask , likewise with him. There were very few misunderstandings causing issues between them as so often the case in this genre. I found their mutual respect and honesty refreshing.
I also loved the dialogue between them, and the dialogue in her head as she contemplated situations and their intimate moments. Lovely writing.
The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that towards the end of the story, I felt her original voice was lost a bit, but that may just me my interpretation.
I was sad this story ended.
A wonderful read
Very much enjoyed this book. It was wild, romantic, dangerous, deep, and full of rich writing that draws you in.
