Clearing in the Forest

Three young children the illegitimate offspring of a Norman Baron and a kept Saxon woman are left detitute when their mother dies, suddenly they have no home and no food. tTheir mother did not care for them so her death made little difference to them as she treated them more as servants regularly beating them but now with nowhere to live they are driven from their villagge, to starve. Set in the time of King John late in his riegn during  the Barons war they struggle to survive and grow strong with the help of a womman of thhe forest as they learn her magic.
