Close to Death

The book, Close to Death, details the author's harrowing experience when finding out that she had one of the highest glucose levels not only in Piedmont Fayette Hospital, but across the country. The glucose reading was 1139, and was so high, that it was not initially thought to be accurate, but instead a blip on the machine. Doctors and nurses worked frantically through the night, in saving this author's life, which was nothing short of a miracle. The book talks about how the author, Aliciadine Starks, started her journey before, during and after being diagnosed with one of the most severe cases of Type 2 Diabetes ever. And how her life has changed since.
