Like most guys I have a type— she wasn't mine. Not at all.
The angelic beauty on the dance floor has innocence written all over her. But I can't stay away. And when she runs from me, leaving me wanting more, I can't get her out of my head.
Turns out finding her won't be too hard. My mystery virgin is the new marketing assistant for the Rough Riders Football team. And the owner's daughter.
She wants to lose her virginity and she's come to me for one thing, and one thing only. I'll gladly help her out, but we have to be careful no one discovers us.
The last thing I need is for my boss to find out I've been teaching his baby girl all my dirtiest plays.
But I didn't get to be MVP by playing by the rules.

The Player’s Angel
Conner, professional football player for the Rough Riders, is out for a night on the town when he spots Brenna. There’s something about her that catches his eye. She’s not his typical type, but he wants her nonetheless. A night of passion is all Conner wants and needs. With his contract up for renewal, he has to prove himself invaluable to the team so that his contract is renewed. A relationship is out of the question. But there’s something about the “Angel” dancing in his club...
After enduring a horrific experience as a child, Brenna is ready to live a little. She’s spent a lot of time away from her family while attending school. Brenna has lived an extremely sheltered life since the incident and still suffers from panic attacks. While she’s better, she’s still getting used to living life in the public eye. Wanting to be “normal”, Brenna and her best friend go out for a night of dancing and possibly more. While at the club, Brenna locks eyes with Conner and dancing leads to a lot more...When Conner later finds out Brenna is his bosses daughter, Conner believes that Brenna isn’t the “Angel” she claims to be.
I have loved each of Stacey Lynn’s novels, but this is one of my favorites! Brenna’s innocence and drive to be “normal” was so admirable and at times, heart wrenching. Conner’s success and career as a professional athlete oftentimes leads to mistrust. Do people want something from him or do they truly like him for the person he really is? Conner and Brenna’s journey to their HEA wasn’t easy and I think that’s what I liked the most about this novel. It was REALISTIC! They struggled, made mistakes, but ultimately decided Love was worth a shot. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Love that you can definitely read this as a standalone even with more books in the series!
Love that you can definitely read this as a standalone even with more books in the series! This was the first book from this author that I’ve read and I really enjoyed it, although it took a minute to get into! Brenna has decided to put herself out there and get rid of her innocence through a hookup with a stranger named Connor. But things backfire on her when after meeting the perfect guy, things don’t go as planned, and even better – they realize who each other are during a team event where Connor is a player and Brenna is a new employee as well as the owner’s daughter. Knowing things could go south fast, both are upset with each other because the other did not disclose their relation to the team, but while there are risks, this pair decides to follow through. This storyline is a typical womanizing jock turned best guy in the world, and especially after learning about Brenna’s past and why she held onto her innocence for so long, everything clicks in this book. So while I was originally confused, that part of the book became a turning point and I really enjoyed the book and storyline. I definitely will go back and read the previous books in the series, especially getting a little bit of information on the other players.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
