Coincidence, and Endlessness

Coincidence, and Endlessness follows the extraordinary, fragile connection between James, a boy from former East Germany, and Laurel, a girl from the West, who meet in a hospital in 1990.

Both born with incurable conditions, both raised inside hospital rooms, they grow from hesitant children into inseparable young adults. Through years marked by fear, tenderness, and unspoken love, they become each other's source of strength.

But when James is offered an experimental treatment that begins to heal him, Laurel's body rapidly declines. Knowing her time is short, she spends one final week with him traveling through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands—a quiet, beautiful farewell she hides behind a fragile smile.

After Laurel's passing, James struggles to carry the gift of survival without her. His final visit to her riverside grave becomes a moment of surrender, where love chooses reunion over endurance.

Gentle, emotional, and deeply human,
Coincidence, and Endlessness captures the beauty of a love born through chance
and carried into the endless.
