Publisher Description

Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator. Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

I now believe

I've been agnostic since I was 7. I'm now 35 and this book has convinced me that the Gospels are true. I still have a lot of learning to do. But, I will be learning from the stand point of a believer. While I can not confirm that everything in the bible is true, I believe that enough of it is true to use it as a religious foundation. Luckily, this book was a fairly easy and very intriguing read.

One part of the book I did not agree with was about transcendent moral truth. The author stated "the existence of transcendent moral truth is best explained by the existence of god." I don't believe we have transcendent moral values. I think it is our upbringing or personality because some people simply don't have it.

I bought this book in e format and now I want to buy a dozen copies to share with others that doubt.

Captivating Read

I didn’t realize there would be so many correlations between the courtroom and the mission field. This really made me think, which I enjoy from a book. Would definitely recommend.

Believe Again

Most of the time it is easy as Christians to base our faith off the truth we know and have been told. Wallace challenges us to dig deeper, for the sake of our own belief but also for others. This book helps challenge a lot of ideas about Christianity and Jesus and really helps us as Christians be able to defend our faith. I love this book and highly recommend to anyone, whether you are a Christian or not. You might find you have more to lose by not seeking Jesus than you would if you just gave Him a chance.
