College Transitions

This book project emerged from a collaboration among faculty at five institutes of higher education (IHEs) in the Rio Grande Valley. They worked throughout 2013-2014 to create a high school course that would prepare students for college in many ways. We wanted to help students be successful in their first semester first-year rhetoric and composition course, meaning better prepared to take on college types of reading, inquiry, and writing. We also wanted them to be more reflective students who understand their reading, research, and writing processes so that they can read college situations and respond to them quickly and effectively.
