Sometimes, the only way to fight fire is with fire.
Greer LeBlanc put her old life behind her when she moved back to New Orleans. She had pushed the one man she knew she could count on out of her mind. There were other problems to worry about now. Her little brother was being forced to work for one of the most dangerous men in the city to pay off their father's debts. Now she had joined him, working as a dancer at one of the gentlemen's clubs. But the harder she works to free them, the tighter the noose tightens around their neck.
Knox Monroe could take a hint. When Greer said they could never work out, he did his best to relegate her to the recesses of his mind and live his life. Until he learned she stumbled into some sort of trouble. Now, like it or not, he's riding into the Big Easy ready to embroil himself in whatever mess she's in.
Can Knox use his wits and unique gift to save them all? Or will he leave their world in embers?
Knox to the rescue
Knox has had Greer on his mind. When he discovers she’s in trouble he rides to the rescue. But things are more complicated than he imagined. Still he’s got a few tricks up his sleeves. Good story although it seemed that Greer walked into trouble instead of thinking things through. My biggest problem with the story is that I started the series here and the rest of the family makes appearances. It took me a while to figure out who all the players were. Once I got a handle on that, the flow was better.
