Average Jones -
Adrian Van Reypen Egerton Jones, who prefers his nickname ''Average'' to his full name for obvious reasons, is a member of the very exclusive Cosmic Club, whose members are all experts in very diverse fields. Jones, who lives at the Club, is an adviser to firms on advertising, and uses his intelligence and good humour to solve very unusual crimes and cases.
The Flying Death -
The reader who has a liking for thrills in allopathic doses should find in this tale genuinely exciting reading. There are clear-cut characters, the dialogue is brisk and unforced, the humour is excellent, and the picture of the bleak loneliness and desolation of Montauk Point at the end of Long Island is drawn with really remarkable vividness.
Little Miss Grouch -
Frivolous, absurd, and laughable in spots, will entertain for an hour. "Little Miss Grouch" led him a merry chase complicated by a self imposed chaperon and an irate father on shore but in touch with wireless.
The Mystery -
The disappearance of three successive crews from the stout ship "Laughing Lass" in mid-Pacific, is a mystery weird and inscrutable. In the solution, there is a story of the most exciting voyage that man ever undertook.
