Concerns over Practice Education Ratios: With the Backdrop of a Push to Train More Health Visitors, Practice Educators have been Expressing Fears About How Standards are Being Applied‪.‬

Many different organisations and individuals have been pulling together to do what they can to make the health visitor implementation plan a reality, including Unite/CPHVA. The initiative has been promoted right from the top, with David Cameron pledging: 'We are committed to building a universal health visiting service with an extra 4200 health visitors.' The NMC has also endeavoured to play its part in facilitating this. With the stated aim of helping to get more health visitors into practice, the regulator released a factsheet in March, revised in June (see Box 1), to dispel myths or misapprehensions about health visitor education.
