What if the Thing You Admire Most About the Person You Love Becomes the Cause of Your Deepest Despair?
My name is Jessie. I married a man named Job.
He was my rock, my safe haven, my husband for better or for worse. I did not know what it would mean to fully live that vow, or that I would want him to turn his back on that which he loved above all else. This is my story.
Confessions From a Farmer’s Wife is a modern parallel of the Job story told from his wife’s point of view — a compelling journey of love, hardship, and restoration.
“Confessions From a Farmer’s Wife is a remarkable novel—the story of a mid-20th century Job—that vividly explores the age old question of why bad things happen to good people. This important theme is well- developed as the story progresses, but it is the excellence of the writing that lifts this book above the crowd. Jessie and Job are living, breathing people. We care deeply about them, and through them we experience life in all its beauty and sorrow. The novel is too honest to offer any easy answers, but ultimately it is life-affirming.”—Donna Fletcher Crow, novelist.
“I’ve read this book three times and love it! I can’t wait for the rest of the world to find out about it. Caroline Way has a style all of her own and a fresh voice.”—Cheryl McKay, novelist, screenwriter.
