The late-morning sun tried to make its way past the shades and into my eyes. I was awake and still a bit drunk. The room was a disaster littered with empty liquor bottles, overturned ashtrays, and random clothes strewn about. The bed I had slept in was comfortable, a satin array of heaven wrapped around my naked body. Too bad I didn’t know the name of the man I shared it with. From his sleeping profile, it seemed he would have been memorable had I been sober. Unfortunately, it was time for me to make an exit before he woke up. I struggled to sit up without the room spinning. The curls in my red hair hung in my face. I was cursed with the worst morning hair. I focused my dark eyes on a section of the floor to compose myself. Once I was able, I picked my way through the evidence of the party from last night. I began to gather up my belongings, putting on each article of clothing as I found it. As I bent down to collect my purse on the other side of the bed, I heard a man’s voice say, “Leaving so soon?”
