Contemporary Society

Contemporary Society is based on a subject from the University of Western Sydney, and is an introduction to cultural studies and sociology.


The book introduces you to a central issues in social analysis, bringing theory to life and allow you to analyse and understand the social world. The book aims to give you both a theoretical grounding in the central concepts and methods of social theory through an encounter with problems raised when we engage with practical problems such as racism, environmentalism, inequality and so on.
