Changing times

We live in an era of fast changes. Every time we open an app, we see another new and better diet ad. This book makes some very sensible and logical conclusions about the diet industry. It hard to undo years of subliminal training by doctors and main stream media. But this book is thought provoking and helps you make a more informed decision. I, myself, will try the program and see where I can go. Because dammit! I am tired of starving myself and not getting anywhere. I lose some weight and then hit a 20 foot thick concrete wall that I just can’t get pasted. It is really depressing and devastating that nothing so far has worked. I will see where this takes me. Thank you for this book. It will give me more information to move forward with my journey.

Not scientific at all but some good information

I appreciate that he is promoting more high protein type of diet, which is a good way to burn more fat, BUT he is neglecting to mention some things that have been out there for awhile. This is basically a ketogenic diet. When you go through ketosis, which you surely would after his fast fat burn diet, you will likely get ketogenic flu. It doesn’t feel good. You adapt to burning fat instead of carbs, and THEN you get the energy he is talking about. Also, I don’t agree with cutting out so much of the good carbs—we need fiber, which is also good for regulating insulin, the “fat hormone” he is talking about. Low fiber diets can lead to problems like constipation, therefore probable bloating, and it puts you at risk for colon cancer. While I will agree that the dietary guidelines of the medical community need updating, I prefer some actual scientific research to show it rather than one person’s experience and quotes from New York Times, which is NOT in anyway a scientific journal. To be fair, he does have a disclaimer that these are all is opinions and he is not a licensed nutritionist or doctor or anything. Glad he lost weight, but he may want to look into some tweaks for his diet to avoid long term issues.
