Correspondences

This book is a project by artists Carrie Yamaoka and Peter Yamaoka. The process was simple: one sent an image or a piece of text to the other who responded with an image or a piece of text, and the chain of correspondences progressed in turn, back and forth, as in a conversation. Carrie's contributions are on the left hand pages and Peter's are on the right. Some photos are images they shot themselves, or family photos; others are images of their work, or the work of others who have had an impact on each of them. Several photos from their exhibition at the Roxbury Arts Group in May 2014, as well as some shots of their work juxtaposed in the studio, are included as well.
