Courting Stars

The book COURTING DEATH by Bill Hopkins was a fun read with sarcastic barbs both spoken and thought inside the head of the main character Judge Rosswell Carew. The eighty-something year old judge stumbles on a couple of dead bodies and is bitten by the detective bug. The only problem is he is a judge and not a detective. This puts him at odds with the local sherriff who is determined to keep him out of the case. Roswell is not to be deterred and keeps inserting himself into the investigation and trouble.

I enjoyed the book in spite of some errors in the digital copy I read. There were several blank pages that almost had me putting the book away and searching for a new one. I flipped pages until then story picked up again. I was then able to finish the book. I was also a little disappointed by the ending. However, I will not comment any further on that here. There was some sex early in the book but that was all. There was not a lot of foul language in the book.

Overall I would rate the book COURTING DEATH by Bill Hopkins at four stars. This is primarily due to the blank pages in the digital copy. I would not recommend this book to any one younger than eighteen due to the sex scene and language.

Courting Murder

I really enjoyed this book. People had faults people had Elysses things going on in their lives like real people do. They learned that nothing is as simple as it seems. The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars was the simply Because there is no way a human body can go for days on end with no sleep and highly stressful situations. You can’t do that and keep a clear mind. Specially when that isn’t what you do with your day-to-day life normally. It’s one thing if you’re in the service or a police officer firefighter yeah every day is highly stressful but that’s not for everyone. Otherwise like I said I loved this book I was Right there with the judge trying to figure things out his things are going God thinking I had it so then finding out oops not so much. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
