Cowboy Days & the Apache Wars

After the War Between the States, many people moved west.  Ranching, farming and the growth of population, caused difficulty with the people who already had been living in the area.  Native American Indian tribes. cowboys, vaqueros, miners and other settlers competed with each other for living space.  Geronimo was an important part of this era.  This was the period of the Wild West, a time that still defines the spirit and many characteristics of Arizona.
