She’s trading in city life for open air and wide-open spaces
Kara Montgomery didn’t plan on being a runaway bride but even years of bowing to her parents' expectations can't bring her to marry a man she doesn't love. Choosing to take her planned vacation doing things she's always dreamed of, Kara heads to the closest rodeo.
Finding a woman in his stock trailer isn't uncommon for tie-down roper Cam Granger. Finding one holding a wedding dress is. When Cam learns of Kara's desire to experience life on a ranch, he does something he's never done before; he takes a woman home.
Working with Cam feeds her soul in the way her career never did; Kara feels like she truly belongs.
Hot kisses and passionate lovemaking dispel the doubts crowding in Cam's head, but, when their worlds collide, he wonders if a woman of her class and means could ever be happy with a cowboy. While Cam fears tying Kara down might not be a possibility after all, Kara is faced with a heart-wrenching ultimatum that is sure to leave her shattered.
Beattie's electric third Tangled Up in Texas romance (after Cowboy True) matches a runaway bride with a playboy cowboy. Kara Montgomery, a sophisticated Austin, Tex., accountant, leaves the fianc she isn't sure she loves at the altar and heads to the rodeo, stashing her dress in a horse trailer and taking her mind off her troubles with a burger and a beer. When Cam Granger, a gorgeous but cocky horse trainer and rodeo star, stumbles on Kara retrieving her dress from his trailer, he's instantly taken with the runaway bride and invites Kara to plan her next steps from his family's scenic working ranch, the Diamond G. Cam's expecting just another short-term, no-strings-attached lust fest but surprises himself by developing feelings. For her part, Kara falls first for the wide-open spaces of Texas Hill Country, then for Cam. But when reality comes knocking in the form of Kara's controlling parents and justifiably bitter fianc , the fledgling relationship might not survive. The chemistry between the leads is irresistible, with both hero and heroine having surprising depths, and Kara's overbearing parents are well shaded, making for formidable obstacles to her happiness. This hot romance is sure to melt hearts.
I really loved this book, Kara is such a brave woman for accepting she wants more for herself than she has and she does something a little terrifying to give herself the space and time to determine what she wants and if she’s willing to aim for it. Cam is a rodeo star who after experiencing tragedy at a young age likes to live life with laughter, nobody takes him too seriously. But the laughter is just a cover for his deep wounds that he finds he’s able to heal when he lets Kara in.
Such a sweet novel and it’s also one step closer to solving the mystery that runs through the Granger brothers’ story.
