Cracks into reality

CRACKS INTO REALITY – three stories at the border of mindless is an anthology of three short stories: Situation Tragedy, Secret Vote and G 25, dominated by such themes as the mass media supremacy over society, the confusion between information, entertainment and advertising, the end of politics, the fragmentation of the individual identity and the reality itself as a trash tv show.

The stories, set in undefined places and times, have independent plots and characters, linked by the common thread of this surreal and apocalyptic atmosphere: all protagonists find themselves somehow caught in situations where reality always reveals well different from what we are used to consider "normal", quickly sliding into their worst nightmare.

A world gone mad, son of the visions of Franz Kafka, Philip K. Dick and James G. Ballard, in which Mario Gazzola affords daring narrative structures and linguistic experiments, close to the delusions of William S. Burroughs or José Saramago, recycling and parodying ways and slangs of television and advertising, erasing logical connections and linear narrative.
