Publisher Description

Wedding bells and storm clouds collide in the first engaging novel in a brand-new series about destination weddings, the power of love, and the possible mishaps and missteps that happen on a couple’s journey down the aisle to “I do.”

Paramedic Vanessa Hollister has put her adolescence behind her, including the unwanted label of being the new kid in town over and over again, thanks to her father’s military career. She’s overcome what her mother called “the biggest mistake of her life” and is planning an elegant destination wedding in Destin, Florida with her new fiancé. But will the reappearance of her first husband from her what-were-you-thinking teenage elopement disrupt her dream of an idyllic beach wedding?

As a professional storm chaser, Logan Hollister is used to taking risks. However, a reckless decision during the last tornado season has him questioning the future of his team, the Stormmeisters. Coming face to face with his ex-wife eight years after their divorce compels him to confront his greatest regret: losing Vanessa. Does their past give him the right to interfere with her future?

A fast-moving, powerful hurricane throws Vanessa and Logan together as they evacuate to a storm shelter along with other residents of the Florida Gulf Coast. Forced to spend time together, the pair battles unexpected renewed feelings for each other.

Vanessa and Logan are faced with a choice: Should they accept, once and for all, their teenage marital mistake? Or is God offering them a second chance at happily ever after?

Debora Wilder ,

This is a delightful contemporary romance!

I fell in love with both Vanessa Hollister and Logan Hollister as soon as I met them. Their high school friendship/romance is the stuff that dreams are made of. Then things fell apart. Years later they are both struggling with regrets and second guessing choices that they have made over the years.

They are both such wonderfully realistic and human characters that I’ve met through the pages of a book. They are also surrounded with supportive and caring family and friends that are trying their hardest to help them sort out the past and move into the future that God has for them. On that journey they each have to find a way for ask for forgiveness, forgive themselves and others, and trust God. It is an incredible journey and I thoroughly enjoyed going on it with them.

As an Air Force veteran and wife who dealt with lots of moves, thanks to the military, I liked reading Vanessa’s viewpoint on all the moves as a child who’s dad was in the Air Force. It helped me to understand better what my children went through.

I received a free copy of this book through The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

Delightful book

I read this on recommendation from several of my Goodreads friends, and didn't regret a single moment. Logan and Vanessa haven't seen each other in eight years and never thought they'd even speak to each other again after their failed youthful marriage. Then Vanessa goes to Florida to plan a destination wedding to her fiancé Ted...and keeps ending up in her ex's company—first in a water rescue, second in a hurricane evacuation, third in the cleanup...

Well, they're forced to face a lot of the past, and Vogt gently introduces the scenes of the past in small bits as the story goes along. Can they leave behind the hurts of their past? Is there a future for them other than as enemies?
