Publisher Description

Introduction The word 'blog' is an abbreviation of 'web log', which is a term used to describe a website that presents a series of short articles in reverse chronological order, much like an online diary (Nardi et al 2004). A blog is an example of numerous tools considered to be a 'Web 2.0' application, an ambiguous term generally used to describe the perceived second generation of internet capability (Boulos et al 2006). In essence, the term relates not so much to the technology itself but, rather, to an age where internet users have a spirit of online community and interactivity and are prepared to benefit that community by collaborating and sharing information openly.
