Creative Minds

Welcome, readers, to the publication of Creative Minds. These are stories and poems written by winners from the annual Creative Writing Contest held by CLE at the Education University of Hong Kong. Students at our university participated in the contest by submitting an original, fictional literary piece on the current theme. This publication includes entries from last year’s theme, “Where Was I When This Happened?” and this year’s theme, “Coming Home.” 

Creative writing allows the author to express their dreams, beliefs, and thoughts in universes beyond imagination. As an outlet of self-expression, creative writing offers both the author and reader new perspectives and interpretations on ordinary things in life. And through storytelling, writers and readers begin a journey of empathy through discovering stories of the human condition. Whether through poetry or prose, I hope the words written on these pages transfer you to new places and allow you to explore life from a different pair of eyes.
