Book 6 in Ani’s Blessed Priestess series
So the author gives the book Egyptian inspiration reason like in the previous and the summary from the previous book to segue into this story. It doesn’t seem like much happens other than a lot of angst as the priestesses of Ma’at do their Temple audit and rid out the corrupted individuals. Ani gets to plan and coordinate a funeral so there lies the interest.

Death is inevitable
As the temple of Anubis gets their audit the gang has to rise or fall under the pressures that being short staffed brings. This is so relatable to a real life work place drama.

Crisis in the temple
Lots of tension and crises in the in the temple… short staffed, people being fired, and some resigning, making work difficult. Ani and gang handle it beautifully. They learn a lot very quickly and help keep things going. At the end it looks like things are settling down and change is going to be coming. Looking forward to the next episode.
