Publisher Description
FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley tracks serial killers, using her skills as a psychiatrist and behavioral analyst to get dangerous people off the street and safely behind bars. But prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe knows that just because a killer is incarcerated doesn't mean they're not a threat. His own father, Peter, is a serial killer--in prison but certainly not out of Sam's life, as much as he wishes he was.
When bodies start showing up with Peter's MO, Sam and Grace are both called in to consult. They've met before--and though Grace thought they'd made a real connection, Sam ghosted her. They'll have to get past the awkwardness and mistrust to solve this case--especially because it's about to get personal.
USA Today bestselling author Lynette Eason doesn't give you time to catch your breath in this breakneck race to stop a serial killer.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In the exciting third installment of Eason's Extreme Measures series (after Crossfire), behavioral analyst Grace Billingsley races against the clock to find a serial killer. After several women are found dead in separate incidents with forget-me-not flowers in their hands and Bible verses left at the scenes, Grace is called in to investigate. She crosses paths with Sam Monroe, a consultant on the investigation who is the son of a notorious serial killer and works as a psychiatrist at the prison where his father is serving time. Also on the investigation team is Mark Davis, who maintains a cold antagonism toward Sam because Mark's father had worked the case of Sam's father, becoming so consumed by it that his wife left him. Nonetheless, Sam and Mark know they share the goal of stopping the killer at all costs and agree to work together. Tensions mount as Sam and Grace seek to apprehend the killer, and in the process the pair develop a close relationship grounded in their mutual trust that God will guide them in their investigation. Eason expertly plots the taut mystery and imbues Sam and Grace's relationship with palpable emotion. The result is a satisfying inspirational thriller.

Amazing story
I absolutely love all of this author’s books! I especially love how she incorporates the good message of God into everything she writes. Can’t wait to read more!!!
He made a choice.
Killing wasn’t a game. It was very serious business.
Supervisory Special Agent Grace Billingsley, works with the Behavioral Analysis Unit as a profiler, particularly in crimes against adults. Unfortunately these can be quite horrific and at times, very difficult to profile as well as to solve. Why has the threat suddenly arrived on her doorstep? Will the perpetrator or perpetrators be caught before more must die?
Sam Monroe is a prison psychiatrist with a very interesting family background. Does this in any way connect to the current killer? Will the agents find the connection before it is too late, especially as Grace appears to also be a target?
This ARC was received through Revell and Baker Publishing Group. The impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
EDGE-OF-YOUR-SEAT SUSPENSE!
Lynette Eason is known for her dynamic writing of bestselling romantic suspense novels. In Critical Threat (Extreme Measures, Book #3) Eason has devised a plot that is loaded with edge-of-your-seat suspense! Her characters are crisp and relatable and draw you into the story. Eason based her plot on psychiatrist and behavioral analyst FBI Special Agent Grace Billingsley and her ability to recognize the signs of a serial killer. It will require all of her skill, hard work, and some luck to find the serial killer that is presently terrorizing the local older women. As she begins to build her profile, the FBI decides to loop in prison psychiatrist Sam Monroe, who adds a unique perspective because he is the son of a notorious serial killer. He knows how serial killers work while they are still incarcerated. As the story develops, so does the suspense when Grace becomes one of the hunted as well! Will Grace and Sam’s growing attraction to each other be a help or a hindrance as they race to solve the identity of the serial killer? This book deserves more than 5 Stars!
