Crossroads

Many traditional Indigenous groups understood the interconnectedness of self, society, planet and cosmos. This idea involves inherent exchanges among all energy systems, at physical and subatomic levels of existence. The human spirit is created by self through culture and rigorous practice: mind over matter over time. The quantum spirit manifests as a higher-order state of consciousness.


Linda Gorosh wrote Crossroads to explore the sociological thesis that ‘language-ideas’ and the material body are mutually constitutive. How? Where are the interfaces between cognitive and bodily systems? Grounded in and individuated from modern and postmodern academic theory, she believes these verses will be of interest to anyone involved in the quest for self-discovery and the notion of ‘spirit.’


Her poems are a mix of social theory, imagination, dream experiences, waking ‘realities,’ and ‘memories’. "I cannot always distinguish among these states." she says. "This poetry almost wrote itself in an exhilarating ‘stream of consciousness’—very different from my usual laborious method of writing academic papers.


"I hope this book is interpreted in as many ways as there are readers. My goal is to encourage people to self-actualize. Everything we do or don’t do matters. We must see through the maze of propaganda. Education and empathic interconnection are the tools for our survival.


A truly democratic society would provide for all citizens to access continuous opportunities for education, including those of us with learning deficits and disorders. Our greatest work of art is our life—body, mind, and soul."
