Crosswinds: Episode 3

Lacey is used to getting everything her way, but every since her brother's death, things haven't gone the way she wanted them to. Feeling left out and ignored at home, she turns her attention to Luis Moreno. But Luis is her best friend's boyfriend. But bored little Lacey thinks she'll play a game. She wants Luis now, and she doesn't care if she hurts Mallory trying to get him.

Luis is a bit blindsided by Lacey's new behavior and isn't quite sure how to handle it. His good friend is turning into a mean girl right before his eyes - but his past crush on her isn't letting him look away. A twisted little triangle is being formed, but that isn't all Mallory will have to deal with.

Crosswinds sets another relationship foundation and we get a deeper look into some of the characters we've met in the past. Things are starting to be all knotted together in a very twisted way.

The story starts to simmer with Lacey Salts sudden attraction to her best friend Mallory Alvarez's boyfriend Luis Moreno. Sounds typical for teenage drama. Lacey is leaving a wake of destruction in her path after the sudden and tragic loss of her brother Jacob Salt. Mallory vows to stand up for herself and the things she wants. Mal does not want to ignore or turn a blind eye the way her mother, Joanne Alvarez, did with her father Hector during their entire marriage. But is it already too late to keep Lacey from stealing Luis?

It continues with broken soldier, Logan Murphy, returning home early from Afghanistan. But before he is able to make it to his family's bar, Murphys's Pub, Logan runs into Ginny Moreno and sparks ignite. Maybe these two can fix what's broken in the other with the fire that's burning between them.

It all ends with a confrontation blowout between the Alvarez sisters over a backstabbing secret that gets twisted. The claws come out and rumors, lies and drama unfold for the whole town to learn.

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book! Elisabeth Naughton did a brilliant job with the 3rd book in this series. She continues to dive in deeper with the characters, while amping up the drama to the point I was yelling at my ebook! Rising Storm needs to be on TV! It's that good and I wouldn't look that odd yelling at the TV instead of my ebook. I would slap these girls to straighten them out! I can't wait to read episode 4: Dance In the Wind.
