Daddy’s Different… or, did you know that already? Samson Baker, a businessman in his mid-forties, collapses in his office, misses four days of his life and wakes up in a hospital confronted with others’ thoughts swirling in his head. In the hospital, Sam meets a beautiful, but disconcerting, woman, Rachael Kincaid, and encounters the egocentric, power-crazed and, unfortunately, also gifted Reverend Orchid.

Determined to use his powers to rule the world, Reverend Orchid seeks advantage amid growing economic, political, and social chaos. Chuck Nornstrom, President Eleanor Taft-Browning‘s Chief of Staff, and Nornstrom’s nemesis, FBI Director, Alonzo Mazetti, are forced to work together to neutralize Reverend Orchid.

Following his release from the hospital, Sam is attacked by intruders and must kill for the first time, dragging him unwittingly and reluctantly into a leading role in a battle with unseen forces determined to take over everything. Sam and Rachael are thrust into a deadly clash of minds. Both pay dearly; their futures are irrevocably entangled as humanity faces a dangerous and uncertain future.
