Dad’s Letters Home

“During his Army enlistment, Dad wrote his “Mama” almost daily as well as to family members seated around the Wills Christmas table with him in the photo below. He also wrote to each of his life long friends. He wrote from trains, ships, river banks, Army hospitals and the military bases of Ft. Bragg, NC, Ft. Dix, NJ, Ft. McClellan, AL, Ft. Lawton, WA, and Ladd Field & Mile 26, AK. His family and friends wrote to him too and sent packages of orange pecans, nuts, candy, fruitcake plus newspaper and magazine clippings of news from home.”
