Publisher Description
Beautiful girls are not hard to find at Columbia River University.
The coeds on campus are great to look at but I was over that scene three years ago, after graduation.
These days, outside of being part of the largest civil engineering job on campus, all I’m searching for is a decent meal and some peace and quiet. It’s why I’m happy to have found what I consider a hidden gem in the diner I frequent.
All I need to do is finish this job and move on to the next by year's end.
Should be easy enough. Only when Vanessa walks up with a simple smile, she not only takes my order but she takes my breath away, too.
Next thing I know, I’m here every morning, making every excuse to dine with this intriguing woman. Not only is she smart and sexy, but she’s laser focused on reaching the goals she’s set for herself.
The more I get to know her, the more I’m convinced she's the one. I just have to find a way to get her to deviate from her perfectly laid plans and take a chance on me.

In love with this one
I always love the feels that the single parent trope gives me. I fell in love with Jules from the previous book. So I was really looking forward to reading her in her mom's book. And I did enjoy this book. I loved Damien and Vanessa. Their story was wonderful. This book was exactly what I needed. And the adorable Julia, of course, steals the spotlight!
Jules will keep you laughing and smiling
Vanessa & her twin brother Vince had a hard life losing their parents unexpectedly and on the same day right after their high school graduation. Statistics weren’t in their favor with Vanny being a teen mom to her adorable little girl Julia. With a lot of hard work, determination and help from Vince. Vanny was on track to graduate with her nursing degree, but she hadn’t let herself be in a relationship until she met Damien. Vanny & Dame were cute together and Jules had Dame wrapped around her finger not long after she met him. Another cute read that will leave you smiling and laughing at times, due to Jules antics.
Stand alone story
Damien was a stand alone story, though characters from Vince and Making the Call feature prominently in the story, so I was glad I read those first. To a lesser extent characters from Drew also appeared, but they didn’t play a significant role in the story line. The were some continuity errors compared to Vince (like Julia’s age), but it was easy to just go with it for the story.
