Interesting and fast paced

Needs some editing! Several passages are duplicated in the beginning... overall, a great story.

My book was missing some paragraphs, or in the wrong order, in chapter 3.
Darius and Carolyn meet after they both are told that destiny awaits them in Savannah. Carolyn is a witch that Darius, a vampire, is sworn to protect. What he doesn’t know until they meet is she is his soulmate. This is a love at first sight story. I really enjoyed it as I do all of V.A. Dold’d books. Will Darius be able to save Carolyn from the Guild of witch hunters? Will their soul deep connection help them survive the coming evil? I felt like things went a little fast and you were supposed to understand things without them being explained. I think I understood some from reading the Le Beau series but if you picked this up as a first in series it may be a little confusing. This book is also available as part of the Sigils and Spells anthology.

Disappointing

I know it’s on the shorter side but way to go giving us all the information in the first two pages. I think the plot was promising but not well developed. We find out mostly everything about the characters in the first two chapters and it was a bit disappointing. Personally, I would have appreciated a little bit of character development. Everything just felt super rushed for me, even for a supernatural book.
