But when she starts experiencing the symptoms of magic disease that could rob her of her element, turn her into a cold-blooded killer, and shatter her life, all of her beliefs are put to the test. I really am not sure on my opinion of this book. I didn't like the Ria very much or Michael, but I absolutely loved Adrian. This sounds petty, but I didn't like the choice of names for practically anyone but Alan. The magic was confusing. I don't know if I would recommend this book or not. It all depends on you if I would. Overall, I could barely put it down, but afterwards it was kinda like: "what? I should have been doing something else." I would be open to following this author into the future because she certainly is able to captivate you with her pen. I loved the ending. I really have respect for authors who end it on a fake cliffhanger. Like a wow-cliffhanger not a what-the-heck-happened--N.O.-You-did-not-just-do-that,-author-cliffhanger. So I guess my review would be thumbs up to the author, but shrug to the book. (If this doesn't make sense to you, please don't hurt your brain over it. Thanks. 😉)
I finished the book in one day. I couldn't put it down.
It was one of the best books I ever read. It was funny and written well. I can't wait to read the next book!
