Five years ago, Dante Carelli made a deal with the devil…
It cost him everything—his brother's freedom, his family's trust, and the only woman he ever loved, Kat Harrell.
To save him from himself, and his family's enemies, Dante was hidden away in Italy, regretting his every decision, and praying for a chance to make amends.
Now he's back, and ready to atone for every heart he broke, especially Kat's.
There's no one Dante won't take on to free his family from the clutches of the Mafia. But it's a battle he can't fight alone. He needs a hacker, someone with skills sharper than his. Someone with grace under fire and ample cunning.
He needs Kat. But how can he fight the enemy and still keep her safe?
Kat Harrell doesn't need Dante's protection. The expert hacker can take care of herself, and the last thing she wants is to be back in Dante's tangled web. Besides, Dante is the past.
There's nothing left for Kat there.
So why does the air thicken every time he's around her? And how can he still make her laugh and blush like he did when they were kids?
But the people they love have wrapped themselves in a knot of danger, and neither Dante nor Kat can unravel it alone. They'll have to work together to save those they care about--whether they like it or not. Because when you play games with the devil, there are no rules.
A captivating and fast paced read
I absolutely devoured this book! Dante is a captivating, fast paced, childhood friends-to-lovers romance with mafia undertones, edge-of-your-seat suspense, and interesting characters.
Dante is a part of the Carelli Family and landed himself into trouble a few years back. This affected the close-knit friendship that he had with Kat. Needless to say, this dashing, scrumptious man has to wiggle his way back into her good graces. As for Kat, can I just say that I love the fact she is a skillful hacker? With secrets and trust issues, can these two work together? Can they repair their relationship?
This is a quick read that kept me engaged from beginning to end. There are some moments of humor along with delicious tension between Dante and Kat. There was a fair amount of suspense and even action which kept me on my toes. Dante is Book 3 of the Carelli Family Saga Series where each novel features one member of the Carelli family. Having only read the first book in the series prior to reading Dante (somehow I missed Dario’s book!), I was able to easily follow along and would say it could be a standalone. That being said, with an overarching storyline occurring throughout the series, there is a cliffhanger and it made it seem like the book ended rather abruptly. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the novel and I cannot wait for the next book in the series!
