There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I am coming for you...
My secret is an ancient one. I exist to exact vengeance on the Fae for their wrongs per Death's orders. When I’m sent as a spy to one of the most treacherous, deceitful places in any realm – the court of the Light Queen – things go awry. Neve captured my soul with just a look from her seductive gaze. She is who I want, who I crave…who I hunger for. But someone has set out to kill her – and expose me. I’ll destroy any man – human or Fae – who brings harm to her, for she is the light my soul can’t risk losing…in Dark Alpha’s Demand, the next Reapers novel from New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant.
Another hit for author Donna Grant!
Dark Alpha's Embrace, the next installment of Donna Grant's Reaper's series was nail biting. I couldn't put it down. Check out this and her other series. You won't be disappointed!
The Reapers Novels
3rd installment in The Reapers Novel is the story of Talin and Neve. While these can be read as a standalone, I wouldn't suggest it. Each character is continued on to the next book. Each installment are about one of the Reapers finding their mate while in the middle of fighting a war with a spurned Reaper.
The one issue I have with this storyline is that a Reaper is not allowed to tell the Fae who they are even if they fall in love with one. If the Fae find out about the Reapers, they must be killed. Why? The only thing I can gather is the Fae apparently can't keep the Reapers a secret, so they are destroyed. Is this based on truth or assumption that Fae can't keep them a secret? I don't know. It seems harsh either way.
Reapers work for Death who is named Elith. When Bran, one of her Reapers told his lover, a Fae, that he was a Reaper, Elith killed her, hence the start of the war. (Spoiler if you haven't read book 1 and 2). In book one and two, the reapers fall in love with half Fae/half human. Since Fae do not recognize half breeds, they are allowed to know the existence of Reapers. Unfortunately for Talin, Neve is a full blood Fae.
Will there be a way for Talin to keep Neve? That's what you learn in book Three. I enjoyed the story. It's creative and maturely written. I have issues with the rules for the reapers but then there wouldn't be a story without it. Will I continue to read more from Donna Grant? Definately!
