I'll admit that I am a true FAN. Christine Feehan has been blessed with a talent few writers of this genre share. Her characters have unique personalities and weaknesses as well as sexy strengths and gorgeous bodies. It's late at night. I'm feeling old and tired but as I read these pages I was transported to a time I was young and strong and very sexy. So I say to Ms Feehan, thanks for the good time and for the memories!
The Dark Series is pretty good but
I've read almost all of these books years ago and wanted to do it again. Upon reading the first, I was reunited with the love I have for Christine's way with words. But then after reading the second, I was also reminded of how each book is essentially the same. The males are the same and the women are the same. Although I understand you paint a picture with the males strength and longing to capture the light and compassion of the life mate, I found it sad that each women basically did and does the same as the last. There is no individual reaction from Raven to Shea to Alexandria, etc. they all react the same way. And while that initially would make sense, because vampires existing would shock anyone, it is just kind of a let down that it's so similar within each book. And although I enjoy the ride,a lot of the books are simply repeating the same thing over and over. But I have to say, overall, the books are fun if you want to escape into a little fear and fantasy. But honestly, besides getting to know all the carpathians names, if you read one or two, you essentially read them all.
This is the second time I read this book and it just keeps getting better and better.
