Strong hands were holding her up as she cried. Lips were kissing her hair, her brows, her cheeks, chasing the tears away. She was holding on to incredibly strong arms, her body pressed to a warm body, her heartbeat racing with the heartbeat of the one embracing her. She was in a loving, protective cocoon. She felt like a baby inside her mother’s womb.
She could feel the breeze on her face and it quickly dried her tears away. She looked up in surprise when she realized they weren’t on the ground. They were airborne. They were flying.
When she raised her eyes, she saw Erick’s beautiful, compassionate face. He was as solid as a rock, as soft as a sturdy pillow, and as perfect as Michelangelo Bounarroti’s David.
And he has wings… great span of white wings doubly or more so longer than his body. His feathers were as white as pure cotton, as powerful as turbo engines. Her eyes widened in surprise. But she was laughing. She was laughing happily.
“I was right! You are an angel!”
He smiled. Then he lowered his head and his lips sealed hers with a passionate, lustful kiss.

Definitely a must-read!
Dark Knight in Disguise I is, how do I put it into words? That's right, very angelic with a dark twist. This story is very promising, the plot clean of loopholes, and I felt drawn to the characters in just a short period. Erick is a guy – oops – an earthbound angel, to be precise, who has been cast down from heaven in order to experience the fullness of living as a human, so that he'll be able to understand why humans are worth saving for. Apart from his human form, he's not accustomed to his human emotions. That's why he's intrigued by Holliane, the girl he had just witnessed humiliated by her landlord. And maybe that's why he was drawn to her, because Holliane is worth saving for.
To be honest, I was afraid of this book at first. Not because of its cover, its plot, or the attitude of the guy in Dark Knight in Disguise I reminds me of this cute guy who works at the coffee shop downtown; no, not at all. It's because of the demeanor of the book, you know? That metaphorical bridge where angels and humans meet. I'm just scared that someone will die, but after I've read the first chapter, I was like, “Damn, this is really enticing!” so I continued to read it and, guess what happened? I was left craving for more! Such a good read! This book not only explored the realms of love and the supernatural, it also explored the goodness of self-discovery, gripping emotions, and romance between two people whom you've never thought were meant to be together. Sandra Ross is a great author. Can't wait for the second volume!
