Dark Memories
The Dark Falls Series is an auto buy for me. Each a stand-alone about people and stories of a small town. Dark Memories is no exception. It can be read as a stand-alone, but the previous book in the series Dark Terror introduces Delaney Harris to us.
Harry, as know to her colleagues, has a tough shell, is an excellent detective and is off men! Her icy persona keeps men at arms length. There’s a reason. The love of her life, Zach Jameson, abruptly left her for his previous girlfriend after making future plans with her. She has never recovered. She works Major Crimes for DFPD and has a special hatred of crimes against women and children. She has personal experience with this hateful crime.
Zach Jameson has followed Delaney Harrison’s career, tried to get in touch with her multiple times, always ignored. Now he needs her desperately. His daughter Kaylee was kidnapped on her way to school, her bodyguard shot, and a message to him that if he contacts authorities she’s dead. He only trusts Delaney, her abilities and their former feelings for each other, which he hopes he can rekindle. Maybe she’ll finally listen to what he’s been trying to tell her for years.
Second chance love story, edge of your seat suspense, an adorable little girl and an equally adorable little dog. Of course there is plenty of heat also! Dark Falls never disappoints!
