This is the first book in a four book saga of love and betrayal, crime and punishment and high adventure. It begins with triplets being born under the auspices of a bad sign. King Wagmar decrees that both mother and children be destroyed. Two of the children are spirited out of the castle and placed in foster families where they will grow up to rejoin their sister to assume the Triple Thrones.

Book 1 tells of the adventures of Ahngelica as she carries the babies to their new homes.
