Though the novel features a stereotypically happy ending and leans more toward romance than fantasy, Marillier is a fine folklorist and a gifted narrator who has created a wholly appealing and powerful character in this daughter of the forest.

Probably the best book I've read. It's beautiful and lyrical and deeply magical and so lovely. If only I can find a man like Red. It will stay with you for a long time and then some... A must read of all book lovers.
Great Story!!
Absolutely amazing, and has kept me hooked on her writing for the past few years. I can't help but reread them from time to time!

Do not get this on iBook!!! But do read it in print. This is at least a four star book but I am beyond disappointed in the ebook version! I had it in print and lost it and decided to just get it on iBooks. There are so many typographical errors in the digital version my reading experience was ruined. It seems that it could not have been edited at all.
