Pike Logan and the Taskforce are used to being the hunters. But in this explosive “thriller that really thrills”(Publishers Weekly) from New York Times bestselling author Brad Taylor, they are the hunted...
Intent on embroiling the US in a quagmire that will sap its economy and drain its legitimacy, Russia passes a potential weapon of mass destruction to Boko Haram, an extreme Islamic sect in Nigeria. The Russian FSB believes the weapon, a relic of the Cold War, has deteriorated and is no longer effective, but they are wrong. Boko Haram has the means for mass destruction, which will be set loose upon a multitude of unsuspecting innocents on one of the world’s grandest stages.
Trying to uncover who might be stalking them, Pike Logan and the Taskforce have no idea what has been set in motion. But there is another secret from the Cold War buried in the Russian FSB, and exposing it will mean the difference between life and death for millions.
When two members of Taskforce, the supersecret U.S. government antiterrorism agency, are killed in Bulgaria while tracking Nigerian terrorist Usman Akinbo, Pike Logan, who heads a Taskforce cover organization, takes over, in bestseller Taylor's high-powered sixth outing for his resourceful hero (after The Polaris Protocol). A plot by Russian FSB leader Vladimir Malikov to use Akinbo ends up pitting Pike and company against Russians led by spy Yuri Gorshenko, but an Israeli outfit proves to be a wildcard in a chase that skips from Bulgaria, Istanbul, and Berlin to the ultimate target. Taylor is adept at combining past tragedies, like the terrorist attack on the 1972 Munich Olympics, with more recent developments, like the Snowden disclosures, and tracking the geopolitical changes in between. Throw in modern technology, gunfights, hand-to-hand combat, and a daring race to prevent a disaster that would make the Munich Olympics attack pale by comparison, and you have a thriller that really thrills.

Well written with Military experience and specific, ie: pistol specifics, etc. the story moves briskly, avoids boring unnecessary fill in detail. Kept my attention even to the annoyance of my,,bed partner.
The widows spike
This is an awesome read and I'm on to the next Pike Logan thriller!!
Non stop action; great fun
Another awesome Pike Logan thriller. It has non-stop action and great spec ops realism written by Taylor an ex-Delta Force operator. My only knock on the book is the huge loose end at the conclusion of the book. Taylor didn't give any resolution or discussion to any repercussions against the nation state that was behind this entire evil plot.
I won't give away any names even though it's pretty obvious early on in the book. The main bad guys are dealt with but there is no mention of how the U.S. punishes the nation state and the high level leaders who initiated this evil plot from the start. Hopefully the next book will address this issue.
Pike would never let this stand.
