THE FINAL NOVEL IN THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING SOOKIE STACKHOUSE SERIES—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood.
When a shocking murder rocks the small town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, psychic cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse learns that she has more than one enemy waiting to get vengeance for the past. Beacuse nothing is ever clear-cut in Bon Temps. What passes for truth is only a convenient lie. What passes for justice is more spilled blood. And what passes for love is never enough...
In the final installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series on which HBO's True Blood is based Harris's heroine once again finds herself torn between potential suitors and threatened by a host of supernatural beings. Despite her desire to live a somewhat normal life, the telepathic waitress becomes further tangled in the violence and rivalries of the supernatural realm. After using the magical cluviel dor to bring her friend Sam back to life, Sookie's vampire lover Eric becomes jealous and starts ignoring her. While Sam is coping with the trauma of coming back from the dead, Sookie has bigger problems when her former co-worker Arlene is found dead. Since Arlene had previously conspired to have Sookie killed, Sookie becomes the prime suspect and needs her friends to come to her defense. Harris's wry humor and the novel's strong sense of place in working-class Louisiana shines throughout at one point, "the devil was eating beignets". Amid the fast-paced, action-filled novel, Harris manages to tie up loose ends for the series' large cast of characters and longtime readers will appreciate Sookie finding closure.

EYou I really foeq to be scs
Ok, I’m really not happy with this book. I liked the action and murder stuff just fine but the lack of a HEA with Eric or Bill just irritates the crap out of me since vampires were the big lovers. I really wanted Eric to fall head over heals for Sookie. Then when he left, I wanted him to pine, beg, & threaten other men, but none of that happened. He tried to have his cake and eat it too. I feel cheated!!
This isn't a review of the book as it is a complaint to Apple Books. Several chapters are missing their last page. Fix it.
