Mates and Mayhem
If you are in the mood for a little vampiric soirée this would fit the bill. I adore the concept of mates, true mates, fate and the like- this book delivered that in spades. There are some steamy scenes, lots of blood play, and, of course, murder and mayhem. The twists and turns were predictable, no big reveals that left me in shock or awe. Genre wise- it falls somewhere between erotic adventure and paranormal romance? If that's not a thing, it is now. The writing is a bit sterile. There are numerous truncated thoughts, choppy sentences, and the repetitiveness of certain phrases can cause some chaffing, but in the end, I still wanted to know what happened to the leading ladies. Maybe with more editing and a little bit of finesse when approaching grammatical choices, this will be a nice niche read for f/f vampire fans.
