Lady Amy's midwife has been murdered, and the detectives are fumbling around. Can she find the killer before Lord William moves them to the country?
After almost a year of marriage, amateur sleuths Lord William and Lady Amy have put aside their investigating skills to prepare for their first child. 'Twould be an easy thing except dead bodies are once again popping up.
A corpse discovered floating in the Roman Baths was startling enough, but the unfortunate victim is Lady Amy's and her sister-in-law Eloise's midwife.
She adheres to her husband's request that she not get involved.
For a while.
Since she has put aside writing her current mystery novel until after the babe is born, she finds herself bored and begins a new hobby that Lord William fears may eventually do him in.
Then another body shows up.
Now really, what's a bored mystery writer to do?

Fun Read
I really enjoyed the humor in the one.
Clever and Fun
This is another of Callie Hutton’s amazingly clever cozy mysteries. Amy and William are expecting their first child. They have put investigations aside for the time being. But, what is a mystery writer with writer’s block supposed to do when her midwife is found dead? According to our favorite detectives, the snarky and somewhat incompetent Carson and Marsh, nothing. Amy will just ask a few questions, not really get involved. Yeah, that’ll work. Well-written with several twists and turns, this one keeps you turning pages, wondering who the culprit is, and who might be next. Amy and William’s latest investigation is entertaining and quite enjoyable. There is danger, of course, but the story is also full of fun. Charming story, lovable characters, and a fantastic ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
