Thrilling
A quick read, finished it in a few hours. The plot is gripping at first. For 3/4 of the story I was sure I would see how it ended. I was wrong. It's a bit frustrating at times. A great struggle takes place in every facet of this book. Very timeless.
Hard to sit through.
Half of the book (hardly an exaggeration) is spent describing terrain features which are still very difficult to visualize. This leads to having a hard time keeping up with what is happening and ultimately leaves me frustrated. The storyline itself is great but this factor makes it more of a headache than enjoyable.
Awesome book
This book was recommended to me back in 2002. I’ve read it multiple times since then and loved it every time. It’s a great read especially if you’re into survival and into getting satisfactory endings. They really need to make a better movie for this the old one with Andy Griffith‘s was OK but didn’t do it justice.
