Deceive Me delivers!

This book has all the plot twists Vi Carter usually delivers, along with the personalities you just have to love. I could not help rooting for Jared and Layla. I’m ready to read more about them in the duet’s conclusion.

No no no

What? NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!! Oh my goodness I can’t believe this cliffhanger! I mean what a way to have me hanging on to the edge of my seat! I gotta know what happens. Their poor childhood was miserable yet together happy. Very sad what they went through and apparently he still goes through a lot. I want to know more about him and their time away from each other. I’m sure my questions will be answered in the next book…which I can’t wait for! LOVE IT! . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Renewed Relationship

Deceive Me is the first book in the Broken People Duet which features Jared/Jay and Layla who grew up together in the foster system until Layla was separated from him seven years ago. They are reunited at Kingscourt College where she begins her education, but both characters have changed. Their dark story has is a tale of perceived betrayal, lies and secrets, bullying physical and verbal abuse, intimacy, a reclaiming of friendship and love, and a dramatic cliffhanger. The story continues in Save Me.. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Deliciously Sexy Slow Burn

Deceive me is hands down one of my favorite Vi Carter books (and I am beyond anxious for the second book in the duet). I almost forgot that this was not a standalone and was left speechless at the massive cliffhanger we were left with. I loved that this was a slow burn and left me craving more. There is still so much to learn about Layla and Jared but knowing that they grew up in the same abusive foster home and we’re each other’s safe haven made me root for them so much more. I was here for the jealousy and suspense that was building throughout the story. From mysterious billionaire fathers to dangerous gang members to lies and misunderstandings, I give this wild ride of a book 5 stars.
