Bumbling beauty
Cousin Caroline cane into her own. It was satisfying seeing her character develop from the past books to now, her story and to find true love in the end. We all know of desperate matchmaking mothers so bravo to Caroline for not giving in and standing up for herself. Not taking the easy comfortable road but roughing it out. At one point I’d have considered the pig farmer myself rather than risk dangerous outlaws. So glad Caroline wasn’t me.
However, story didn’t explain how she really accurately shot Smithy and the others from opposite the campfire and still manage to sneak up on Butch from behind. I thought she had help for tge distraction and waited for the reveal but apparently Caroline was clever and accurate in the end. That part was puzzling to me.
But overall it was nice story about how Caroline and Trent realized their love. Oh and it was also wonderful to have the McKenzie sisters be a part of Caroline’s story. It was like seeing old friends again . I Kina wished they had helped her but understand it was Caroline’s time to shine.
