Great book
I really liked this book. Bane was cool, kinda stubborn though. Loved Mirra
Yikes
If you enjoy reading about a girl repeatedly getting beaten and her bones smashed by the “love interest” (but it’s cool guys, ‘cause she can heal herself so no harm done) then this is the book for you! She is on a mission to save the world by turning the twisted Edge Lord good, all the while getting dragged along with his evil army to witness heinous acts at his order! Fun! She is also unable to hate no matter how terribly she’s treated. She is also incapable of killing. Lucky for him! Once the Edge Lord realizes the torture and suffering of innocents is also painful for her, he doubles down to make her pay for her audacity to heal herself from his physical assaults. Isn’t he so thoughtful? She tries in vain to steer him good but he just enjoys inflicting pain too much. The same conversations happen over and over and ends in a beating, though the violence peters off later on. See he’s not hurting her as much! Must be love! The torture and gore is pretty descriptive and some is visited on this poor idiot girl and her allies. I find it telling that despite all the physical horror this girl suffers from the Edge Lord’s evil minions (knives stabbed through her eyes, limbs broken, excrement smeared on her) she is never raped because I’m sure the author needs her “pure” for him later on. There’s good in him, apparently, and he must be turned from evil and she is the only one that can do it. By being an intriguing doormat. And this is a series? Jfc. I just know this sob is going to be absolved of the horrors he’s committed because he’s “tortured” and “didn’t know any better” but mostly because he’s “hot”. Horrendous characters. Terrible book but a fun hate read and enjoyable to dissect it with friends after and question the author’s well-being.
Not good
Don’t waste your time. Way too long and repetitive. Glad I didn’t pay for this book and will not read the sequels.
