Dervla's Reveal

The violence of nature brings both tragedy and reward to a young couple trying to start a home life on a barrier key along Florida's Gulf Coast in the late 1950's.  Their effort becomes entwined with a mysterious event that occurred centuries earlier within a short paddling distance from their bayou-front property.

The author grew up on Siesta Key along the Gulf Coast of Florida during the 50s and 60s.  Over many years since, he has hiked, camped, and paddled extensively in the state's natural areas and waterways.  This novelette draws from those experiences.
