Bryant Garrity isn’t irresistible.
His lengthy resume of Heisman Trophy winner, number one draft pick and highest paid player isn’t all that impressive. The fact his chiseled jaw and mesmerizing blue eyes have probably made him Mr. Popularity from the age of five isn’t going to work on me. Not when I have goals—goals that don’t include finding myself on an all pro-football heartthrobs checklist.
Carly Lincoln is different.
I could go on and on about her dark wavy curls, her pouty pink lips, or her whiskey-on-the-rock eyes that reveal her truest desires. The fact she’s not impressed by my sports superstar aura like most women makes her worth more than a fling. But this year is my last shot at glory after crumbling to a mere mortal on the game’s biggest stage. My focus needs to be on the ring, not turning Carly’s no's to yes's.
Carly and Bryant’s paths are about to collide, and they better be prepared to fight for what matters most because life’s paths aren’t all sunshine and winding roads

This story started slow and in the beginning, I wasn't sure I would like it but as the story progressed, I found myself becoming invested in the characters and enjoying the story more and more. This is a sweet story, I liked the characters and they have a lot of chemistry. There are also some heavy issues in this book and we see how they deal with them. This story is told from alternating POV.
Bryant Garrity is a quarterback with the Chicago Knights and he is rehabbing his knee while vacationing in the Caribbean. Carly Lincoln is a corporate travel agent working with a group of people in the Caribbean when her path crosses with Bryant. She doesn't know much about football and has no idea who Bryant is when she first meets him.
Bryant is a nice guy. Even though he is a successful quarterback, he is sweet and vulnerable and I love the way he treats Carly. They start their relationship as friends and it slowly develops into more. Carly and Bryant are focused on their careers and have no interest in a relationship in fact, they believe it is impossible to focus on a relationship and also have a successful career. Even though they do not want a relationship because they are too busy with their careers, once they start dating they can't get enough of each other.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books.
