Not Safehold
Unfortunately I had a well written review but it was lost because my username was somehow taken and it wiped the entire thing.
This book is nothing like the safehold series it talks almost nothing about the technology transfers or world comparisons.
Also, so much time passes between each characters chapter that you lose all sense of the character building that I've come to expect from fantasy books
